Common questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Cozy Roomies, then Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period. You can also manage subscriptions at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

I subscribed before, but I'm not seeing Plus features.

Open the app, go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Apple will look up your previous purchase and restore Plus access within a few seconds. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you used when you originally subscribed. If Restore Purchases doesn't work, email us with your original purchase receipt and we'll help sort it out.

My roommate doesn't see my edits — what's wrong?

How do I send you diagnostic logs?

Cozy Roomies keeps a local diagnostic log on your device so we can help you debug sync or backup issues. To share it:

  1. Open the app and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Email Logs to Support.
  3. The iOS Mail app will open with the log pre-attached and our support address pre-filled. Add a short description of what happened and send.

The log contains a recent ring buffer of sync events (timestamps, what operations ran, and any errors), Apple's anonymized crash summaries, and your app version. It does not contain your roommates' names, expense titles, amounts, or any other content you've entered in the app — only structural events. We use the log solely to help with your support request.

I lost my data when I got a new phone.

If you had iCloud Backup enabled in Settings → iCloud Backup on your old phone (a Cozy Plus feature), reinstall the app on your new phone, sign in to the same iCloud account, and your rent splits and settings will restore automatically.

If iCloud Backup wasn't on, data unfortunately can't be recovered — it was only stored on the old device. iCloud Backup is the recommended safeguard for Plus subscribers.

I want a refund.

All App Store refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple reviews refund requests case-by-case and we don't have visibility into or influence over their decisions.
